In The Sun remake - Dayna Palmer, Sophie Piner, Gonca Bellikli

What did we do when filming that made it easier to edit and more professional?

1. In order to make our video run as smoothly as possible, we planned extensively by creating storyboards and taking on different specific roles within the class. We also allocated people to each shot for filming and directing, allowing us to film as quick and professional as possible so we could shoot all the footage in time to start editing.

2. To make the shots easier to edit, each different scene began with the dance moves and music a little before what the shot would actually include. This allowed for flexible editing, with a few seconds give or take each way in case we needed to overlap shots to increase continuity.

3. Playing the music whilst filming allowed for the actors to lip sync and dance correctly, keeping in time with the music. This helped during the editing process as the music from the clips could easily be matched up with the audio track, with the help of markers in final cut.

4. Overall the music video turned out successfully due to Sophie and I acting as the production managers and keeping everyone in line, reminding them of their roles and helping out when needed.

What did we do when filming that made it harder to edit and less professional?

1. Whilst filming, concentration lay mainly on the dance moves and set up of the shots rather than the lip syncing, which proved some difficulty during editing. As the lip syncing was perhaps not as exaggerated as it could have been, the shots were quite hard to match up with each other.

2. As the group seemed to film a little off schedule during the corridor scenes, we ran out of time and had to shoot again another day. This may have effected the actor's performances, as the scenes would become less familiar to them and on the second day of filming not everybody was as enthusiastic as the first day.

3. Some of the shots proved to look less professional due to not sticking to the exact camera movements of the original video, a result of trying to cut back time spent on shots. This lead to difficulties with matching up the scenes together during editing, as I didn't wish to include the most unprofessional looking shots.

4. Although the routine was correctly performed, there may have been an improvement if the cast put more enthusiasm into the dancing, as this would look more professional. As we were quite stressed by the filming schedule, none of the actors appear how they are in the video; extremely happy and energetic.

Overall WWW's:

1. Due to extensive planning beforehand, the cast and crew had everything that they needed in the department of equipment, props and costumes.

2. Although there may have been some mishaps during filming, everyone worked as a group in order to create the most professional looking scenes as possible and everyone put in a lot of effort.

3. The end product appears to match the official video well, as our goal was to interpret the video as our own rather than make an exact copy.

4. Everyone stayed on task whilst we were filming, acting professionally and as best of a group as we could. Most shots were filmed quickly and matched our planning.

 Overall EBI'S:

1. Although planning was done carefully, some shots were missing from our initial storyboards, creating a problem as we didn't know the camera movements. However, we worked effectively around this by filming them how we thought they would best appear, which turned out successfully.

2. Enthusiasm between the dancers could have been higher, as everyone in the official music video appears very happy and energetic.

3. The lip syncing could have been improved to show up more clearly, to make it easier during editing and increase the overall professional look of the piece.

4. Whilst filming we ran over scheduled shooting time, as a result of some problems with the dancing and getting the right timing for these shots. This could have been improved by more rehearsals of the dance beforehand, however it didn't seem to be a major problem as we still had time to edit the video after.
